Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced two of the suspects involved in the attempted theft of vehicles from a Cut Off dealership earlier this month face additional charges stemming from that investigation. Jeffrey Desalvo (age 33) of New Orleans and Meaghan Eymard (age 27) of Marrero were arrested for possession of stolen property after a Crime Stoppers tip uncovered a stolen vehicle.

Desalvo and Eymard were previously charged in the attempted theft of vehicles at Golden Motors in Cut Off along with two others: Waldon Joseph Dufrene Jr. (age 34 of Westwego and Mark Cheramie (age 44) of Barataria. On July 7, 2017, Eymard created a distraction allowing Desalvo to take three vehicle keys from behind a desk. Before deputies arrived, Desalvo and Dufrene fled the scene, leaving behind Eymard and Cheramie. All four were eventually arrested and charged in the incident.

Then on Sunday, July 9, deputies discovered an abandoned Nissan Frontier just off LA Highway 3235 in Cut Off. The vehicle was found to have been stolen from a dealership in Harvey the week prior. Investigators learned it was also the truck Desalvo was driving during the attempted vehicle theft, and they obtained a warrant for possession of stolen property.

Days later, a tip was submitted through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region indicating a stolen Jeep Wrangler was being kept in a storage facility in Galliano. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the storage unit and discovered a 2015 Jeep Wrangler which had been reported stolen out of Plaquemines Parish. Detectives learned Eymard had rented the storage unit after Desalvo allegedly stole the vehicle.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained additional warrants for Desalvo and Eymard. Desalvo was still in jail from the previous arrest, and he was booked with two counts of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things. His bond increased to $58,100, but he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole. Eymard turned herself over to detectives on Wednesday, July 26, and she was charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Things. She was released Wednesday afternoon after posting $20,000 bond.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Davontae Poindexter (age 27) of Bayou Blue following a pursuit in Raceland.

At around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, deputies observed a pickup truck traveling over the speed limit headed eastbound on LA Highway 182 in Raceland and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Poindexter, stopped the vehicle for a moment, then continued eastbound traveling at speeds estimated to be over 100 miles per hour in an area with a speed limit of 55 miles per hour. Poindexter continued on LA 182, passing other vehicles in a no passing zone, before turning onto LA Highway 653. Poindexter then turned right onto Magnolia Street, eventually ending up on Azalea Street where his truck left the roadway and crashed into a small ditch before coming to a stop in a yard. When deputies approached the vehicle, they found it to be unoccupied, and began to search the area for the driver.

At around 12:45 a.m., deputies observed a subject walking through residential yards draped in a tarpaulin in order to conceal his identity. The subject was apprehended and identified as Poindexter, and he admitting to driving the vehicle which fled from the traffic stop.

Poindexter was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked per the two active warrants for Contempt of Court. He was additionally charged with Criminal Trespassing, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Reckless Operation, Speeding, and improper lane usage. His bond is set at $55,550, and he has been ordered to pay $574.50 in fines and costs or serve 20 days in jail in reference to one of the contempt warrants.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Robert “Bobby” Deleon (age 50) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi for four counts each of Aggravated Incest and Sexual Battery. Juvenile detectives opened an investigation recently when two victims came forward with allegations of incidents that occurred more than 20 years ago in Lafourche Parish. Investigators made contact with Deleon on Tuesday, July 25 in Mississippi and questioned him about the incidents. Following. questioning, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked into the Hinds County jail in Mississippi. On Wednesday, July 26, he was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked per the warrant with four counts of Aggravated Incest and four counts of Sexual Battery. He was released early Thursday morning after posting $200,000 bond.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced deputies have arrested the fourth suspect sought in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle and utility trailer in Leeville over the weekend. Billy Bellanger Sr. (age 61) of Raceland was arrested Tuesday, July 25. Jody Landry (age 41), David Leblanc (age 52), and Gordon Melancon (age 56), all of Raceland, were arrested Sunday.

As previously released, deputies responded to a reported theft of an ATV and trailer at a Leeville residence on the evening of Saturday, July 22. Through investigation, deputies learned the trailer was seen at a residence on New Haven Street in Raceland, and they proceeded to the area. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Landry, Leblanc, and Melancon who were standing around the stolen ATV. Deputies interviewed the suspects and heard conflicting and changing stories. Further investigation revealed Landry had told Leblanc and Melancon about the ATV and trailer and told them to pick it up. Leblanc and Melancon traveled to Leeville on Saturday with Bellanger and allegedly stole the trailer and ATV. Landry, Leblanc, and Melancon were arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where they were booked with one count each of Felony Theft and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Bond amounts for Leblanc and Melancon were set at $20,000 each. Landry was additionally booked with three counts of Contempt of Court, and his bond was set at $21,600. Landry is also being held as a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish.

Deputies located Bellanger at his residence Tuesday, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Detention Center, and his bond is set at $20,000.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Terry Lacoste (age 46) of Patterson for Home Improvement Fraud.

On June 5, 2017, detectives opened an investigation into possible residential contractor fraud at a residence on Cedar Tree Drive in Thibodaux. Through investigation, detectives learned a resident had contacted Terry Lacoste of New Image Roofing to have his roof repaired at a cost estimate of $16,800 to be completed in within 7 to 14 days. Lacoste began working on the project on March 15, 2017, and worked for 35 days. According to the resident, the work was uneven and incomplete, and the residence suffered water damage as a result. The resident had also paid several thousand dollars over the contract price for additional labor and materials to complete the job. Further investigation revealed Lacoste did not have a state-issued residential contractor’s license, nor had any parish permit been obtained to perform work at the site. Detectives then obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Lacoste was arrested in St. Mary Parish over the weekend. On Monday, July 24, he was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked with one count of Home Improvement Fraud. His bond is set at $5,000.

Sheriff Webre is cautioning residence to always properly research any contractor before hiring them for any job. Be sure they have proper licensing, and always double-check with the State of Louisiana if there is any doubt.

Through investigation, deputies learned the trailer was seen at a residence on New Haven Street in Raceland, and they proceeded to the area. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a group of men, identified as Landry, Leblanc, and Melancon, standing around the stolen ATV. Deputies interviewed the suspects and heard conflicting and changing stories. Further investigation revealed Landry had told Leblanc and Melancon about the ATV and trailer and told them to pick it up. Leblanc and Melancon traveled to Leeville on Saturday with Bellanger and allegedly stole the trailer and ATV.

Landry, Leblanc, and Melancon were arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where they were booked with one count each of Felony Theft and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Landry was additionally booked with three counts of Contempt of Court, and he was a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish due to multiple outstanding warrants. Bond amounts have not yet been set.

Deputies attempted to make contact with Bellanger but were unsuccessful. Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Patricia Arceneaux (age 58) of Lockport after she allegedly stabbed a woman in a parking lot during an argument on Thursday.

At around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, deputies responded to a call of a woman lying on the ground and bleeding following an altercation in the parking lot of the Sugarland Shopping Center on LA Highway 1 in Raceland. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim, a woman in her 50s, was bleeding from a wound on her left hand. The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  Through investigation at the scene, deputies learned the two women were involved in a verbal altercation inside a restaurant which continued into the parking lot. Eventually, the altercation turned physical. At one point, Arceneaux brandished a knife from her pocket and stabbed the other woman. Arceneaux then entered her vehicle and fled the scene.

Following an investigation at the scene, deputies made contact with Arceneaux, and she was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Her bond is set at $25,000.
