Sheriff Craig Webre announced deputies have responded to an armed robbery which occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Family Dollar store located at 4894 LA Highway 182 in Bayou Blue. Witnesses say an unknown black male subject wearing jeans and a black jacket with a hoodie entered the store and approached the cashier where he produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene in a gold-colored sport-utility vehicle with an undetermined amount of cash. No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
