Two Charged with Armed Robbery in Thibodaux

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced two people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery in Thibodaux on August 7, 2025. Tyrone Carter Jr., 19, and Chance Fletcher, 18, both of Thibodaux, have been charged in the investigation.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on August 7, 2025, a man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in the area of Karla Drive in Thibodaux. Investigators learned the victim had traveled from another parish to attempt to sell a smartphone to a man, and they agreed to meet at a residence on Karla Drive. When he arrived, two men, later identified as Carter and Fletcher, approached his vehicle and began talking about the phone. At one point, one of the men grabbed the phone and pointed a gun at the victim while the other man grabbed a duffle bag from the victim’s back seat. Through investigation, detectives identified Carter and Fletcher as the suspects and obtained arrest warrants.

On August 8, detectives located Carter at his residence. When he saw the detectives, he ran to the back of the residence. Once in custody, detectives located a loaded handgun nearby that Carter was allegedly trying to hide from officers. During a search of the residence, they found body armor, several smartphones, and ammunition. Carter was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with armed robbery with use of a firearm, unlawful use of body armor and obstruction of justice. Bail was set at $260,000.

Fletcher was arrested on Friday, August 14. He was booked into the Correctional Complex with one count of armed robbery with use of a firearm. Bail was set at $250,000.

This investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible.
