Detectives Investigating Weekend Shooting in Raceland

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Friday night in Raceland.

At around 11:30 p.m. on September 19, 2025, deputies responded to a call of a man with a gunshot wound at a local hospital. The victim, who was in his late 20s, had sustained an injury to his leg that was not life-threatening. Through investigation, deputies learned the man had been standing outside of a residence in the 200 block of Williams Street in Raceland when he heard multiple gunshots. He dropped to the ground after being struck in the leg. A person in the area picked him up and transported him to the hospital.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in this investigation. Anyone with information on this incident can submit a tip anonymously to Bayou Region Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-743-7433, online at CrimeStoppersBR.org, or via the Bayou Tips app on mobile devices. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers could lead to a reward of up to $1,000.00 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
