Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Raceland woman has been arrested for having sexual relations with a teenage boy. Ashleigh Landry, 44, was booked on charges on Wednesday. Landry had been employed as the principal at Lockport Middle School, but her employment with the Lafourche Parish School District recently ended.

Earlier this month, juvenile detectives opened an investigation into Landry. Initially, detectives learned Landry had exchanged inappropriate messages with a teenage boy that were sexual in nature.

After obtaining evidence, detectives contacted Landry who agreed to meet. During questioning, she admitted to exchanging inappropriate messages and to having sexual intercourse with the teenager. Following questioning, detectives obtained a warrant for her arrest.

Landry was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on Wednesday, March 24. She was charged with Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. She was subsequently released after posting bail in the amount of $25,000.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a fugitive wanted for sexual battery and other charges was apprehended on Monday at a Larose business. Johnny Morris, 34, of Cut Off was arrested on outstanding warrants and also charged with resisting arrest.

On February 1, 2021, deputies investigated a complaint of sexual battery involving a woman in the Cut Off area. Morris, who is a convicted sex offender, was identified as the suspect in the crime, and deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was not on scene when deputies arrived, and they were unable to locate him at that time. He also had two other outstanding warrants for contempt of court.

Then, at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 22, deputies responded to a call that Morris was seen walking along LA Highway 308 in the Cut Off area. A few minutes later, Morris was reported to be near a pharmacy located on LA Highway 1 in Larose. Deputies arrived on scene and began searching for Morris. They eventually located him locked inside a restroom at the pharmacy. When deputies attempted to make contact, Morris falsely claimed he was store employee and initially refused to exit the restroom. He eventually unlocked the restroom door. Following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.

Morris was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on the warrant for Sexual Battery and two warrants for Contempt of Court. He was additionally charged with Resisting an Officer. Bail is set at $41,000.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Chauvin man has been arrested after stealing over $20,000 from an elderly resident of Cut Off. Kyle Rodrigue, 23, was arrested on Wednesday.

The investigation began on March 10, 2021, when a Cut Off resident reported fraudulent charges on his account. Through investigation, detectives found more than $20,000 in fraudulent charges dating back to August 2020.

Detectives developed Kyle Rodrigue as a suspect. On March 17, 2021, deputies located Rodrigue traveling on LA Highway 1 in Cut Off. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, and he was taken into custody along with two electronic devices he had allegedly purchased with the stolen card. During questioning, Rodrigue admitted to stealing the victim’s card and making many purchases with it.

Rodrigue was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with Felony Theft and Exploitation of the Infirmed. Bail is set at $20,000.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in a theft investigation in Raceland.

On March 9, 2021, deputies responded to a reported theft of a welding machine from a property in the 2100 block of LA Highway 182 in Raceland. Surveillance cameras from the days prior captured images of an unknown man on the property.

Anyone who can identify this individual, or anyone with any other knowledge of this crime, is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers via the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office mobile app. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Golden Meadow woman confronted a female driver on Friday night, forcing her to give her a ride while holding a knife. Kelly Roussell, 25, was charged with Second Degree Kidnapping and other charges following the incident.

At around 9:10 p.m. on March 12, 2021, deputies responded to a call in the Larose area. Deputies learned an 18-year-old female was driving on West 54th Street when she observed a woman, later identified as Roussell, walking down the street and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Roussell threw a bottle at the car causing the driver to stop, and then Roussell then walked in front of the car to prevent her from driving away. Roussell then reportedly brandished a knife and entered the passenger side of the vehicle telling the driver to take her to Klondyke in Terrebonne Parish.

Along the way, the car began to overheat, and the driver pulled into a store parking lot in the Larose area. The driver exited the car and made contact with a store employee to call for assistance. While one individual contacted the Sheriff’s Office, the store employee confronted Roussell. After learning law enforcement had been contacted, Roussell began walking away from the area.

Just after 10 p.m., deputies located a woman lying on the shoulder of LA Highway 3235. She was found to be in possession of a knife and a pipe with a small amount of methamphetamine inside. She initially refused to provide her name or any other information, but she was eventually identified as Roussell. She was found to have an active warrant and made comments in reference to the incident with the other woman.

Roussell was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on the contempt of court warrant. She was additionally charged with Second Degree Kidnapping and Resisting an Officer, as well as possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bail is set at $118,500.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Paul Collins, 58, of Golden Meadow and several others after agents executed a search warrant at Collins’ residence.

Narcotics agents had been investigating Paul Collins as a suspect in the distribution of heroin. Through investigation, they obtained an arrest warrant as well as a search warrant for Collins’ residence on East Main Street in Golden Meadow.

On March 11, 2021, agents arrived at the residence to conduct a search. Collins was present along with several others who were detained. During the search, agents located small amounts of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, which were found to belong to Reed Anderton, Taylor Anderton, and Paul Heseltine. Lynzie Lombas, who was also present, was found to have six active warrants for contempt of court.

Paul Heseltine was issued a criminal summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The others were booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux.

Collins was booked on the warrant for Distribution of Heroin, and bail is set at $50,000. Lombas was booked on her active warrants, and bail is set at $10,300.

Reed Anderton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, and he was booked on two warrants for Contempt of Court. Bail is set at $9,000.

Taylor Anderton was charged with Possession of Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia, and her bail is set at $6,000.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Thibodaux man was arrested after firing multiple rounds inside and outside a trailer in Thibodaux. Quinton Anderson, 31, faces multiple charges in the incident. No injuries were reported.

At 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, deputies responded to a call that a man was actively shooting at a trailer in the 100 block of Chisholm Trail in Thibodaux. Using a semi-automatic rifle, the man had fired several rounds inside the trailer before moving outside and firing additional rounds toward the trailer. When the shooter noticed deputies on scene, he immediately dropped the firearm and surrendered. He was taken into custody and identified as Anderson. He was found to have a small amount of suspected marijuana in his possession. He appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was initially transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Detectives learned Anderson was a relative of the person renting the trailer. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the trailer. During the search, detectives discovered approximately two pounds of marijuana, as well as a number of bullets, casings, and bullet holes. They also found one round had struck a metal structure on a neighboring property.

Following his release from the hospital, Anderson was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Total bail has not yet been set.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced three people were arrested as part of a narcotics investigation in the South Lafourche area. Jermie Charles, 32, of Galliano was arrested on a variety of charges on Monday. April Garcia, 35, of Galliano and Robert Bourgeois, 53, of Cut Off were also arrested incidental to the Charles arrest.

Narcotics agents had been investigating Charles for drug distribution and obtained warrants for his arrest for Principal to Distribution of Fentanyl and Criminal Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl. On March 8, 2021, LPSO narcotics agents proceeded to Charles residence on West Main Street in Galliano to attempt to make contact with him. With assistance from the Lafourche Parish Interagency Crisis Management Unit, agents took Charles into custody without incident. Agents also had a search warrant for Charles residence. During the search, agents discovered various amounts of fentanyl, marijuana, clonazepam, nine firearms, and over $17,000 in cash. Garcia and Bourgeois were also arrested incidental to serving the warrants on Charles, and all three were booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux.

Charles was booked on the two aforementioned warrants for fentanyl distribution. He was additionally booked with possession of fentanyl, marijuana, clonazepam, and drug paraphernalia, as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. Bail is set at $406,200.

Garcia was booked on two warrants for contempt of court. She was also charged with possession of fentanyl, marijuana, clonazepam, and drug paraphernalia, as well as possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.  Her bail is set at $76,700.

Bourgeois booked on a warrant for Principal to Distribution of Fentanyl, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail is set at $200,100.
