Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Henry Dickerson III (age 63) of Raceland on Friday, September 9. At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a convenience store on LA Highway 1 in Raceland in reference to a robbery. Agents of the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force who were in the area apprehended the suspect, later identified as Henry Dickerson III, moments after he fled the store. Deputies investigated at the scene and learned Dickerson entered the store and approached the counter to purchase an alcoholic beverage. When the cashier opened the register to provide him with change, Dickerson reached over the counter and grabbed an undetermined amount of cash from the drawer. He then pushed the second cashier out of the way and fled the store. Deputies reviewed surveillance video and confirmed Dickerson as the suspect from the video. Dickerson was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with Simple Robbery. His bond is set at $25,000.
