Lockport Man Arrested on Multiple Charges after Holding Woman at Gunpoint

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Lockport man was arrested on Monday on multiple charges after holding a woman at gunpoint earlier in the day. Adam Gregoire Jr., 45, was arrested on Monday afternoon.

On the afternoon of October 27, 2025, deputies responded to a call of a woman who was reporting that a domestic incident had occurred earlier in the day. Through investigation, deputies learned Gregoire and the woman were arguing outside his residence when he grabbed her by the hair and forced her inside his home. Once inside, Gregoire reportedly grabbed the woman by her jaw and neck and began choking her. He then grabbed a pistol and pointed the gun at her head, threatening to kill her. Gregoire kept the woman at the home for several hours before finally leaving the residence that afternoon, allowing the woman to escape and contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies then began searching for Gregoire and found him traveling southbound on LA 1 in the Mathews area on a motorcycle. Gregoire turned down Adams Street, and deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Gregoire continued to the 200 block of Adams Street before finally stopping. As a deputy approached him, Gregoire shoved the deputy, and a struggle ensued before the deputy was able to take him into custody. Deputies found Gregoire to be armed with a loaded pistol, a stun gun, and two sets of brass knuckles. Deputies also found Gregoire was a convicted felon and had two protective orders in effect, all preventing him from legally owning or possessing a firearm.

Gregoire was transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux for booking. After he arrived, correctional staff conducted a more thorough search of Gregoire and found him to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

Gregoire was booked on charges including domestic abuse aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery involving strangulation, false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon, resisting an officer with force or violence, battery of a police officer, flight from an officer, two counts of illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of violation of protective orders. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and taking contraband to a penal institution. He also had an active warrant for contempt of court. Bail is set at $241,750.
