Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced that a search for a missing Thibodaux man ended on Saturday morning when investigators found his body. Tavares Coleman Jr., 25, was found dead in a pond near his home on December 20, 2025.

Coleman’s death remains under investigation. To this point, detectives have found no evidence of foul play. Sheriff Webre thanked the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the search and recovery, as well as Mark Michaud with Southeast Louisiana Underwater Search and Recovery.
