Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre and Golden Meadow Chief of Police Michelle Lafont announced the arrest of a Golden Meadow man for four counts of first degree rape. Randy Delatte, 40, was arrested early Wednesday morning.

In August 2026, an LPSO school resource officer assigned to a Golden Meadow school learned a juvenile at the school had allegedly been molested by an adult male in her neighborhood, later identified as Delatte. Investigators learned Delatte allegedly had sexual contact with the girl in four separate locations. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Delatte was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex early Wednesday morning, September 2, 2026. He was charged with four counts of first degree rape. Bail is set at $1 million.
