Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Thibodaux man who was arrested last month for sex crimes involving a juvenile now faces new charges in the investigation. Gregory Leblanc, 61, has now been charged with rape and sexual battery in addition to previous charges.

In June 2026, juvenile detectives began investigating Leblanc after allegations surfaced about inappropriate behavior with a female that had occurred several years prior when she was a young child. They also found evidence of inappropriate photographs of the child apparently taken without the child’s knowledge, among other evidence. After obtaining an arrest warrant, he was booked on July 24 with 11 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, four counts of video voyeurism, two counts of pornography involving a juvenile, and molestation of a juvenile.

Further investigation of his actions with the girl led detectives to file new charges for first degree rape and sexual battery. Leblanc, who was still incarcerated at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, was booked on the new charges on Tuesday, August 11.

Bail has now increased to $3.1 million.
