Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for stealing copper from a sugar mill in Raceland.

During the early morning hours of September 4, 2026, a large quantity of copper welding cables was stolen from the Raceland Raw Sugars mill, located on LA Highway 182 in Raceland. Investigators are seeking any information that may assist in identifying those responsible and recovering the stolen property.

Anyone with any information on this crime is asked to submit a tip anonymously to Bayou Region Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-743-7433, online at CrimeStoppersBR.org, or via the Bayou Tips app on mobile devices. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers could lead to a reward of up to $1,000.00 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
