Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Thibodaux on Friday night that left one person injured.
Just after 8:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026, deputies responded to gunshots in the area of the Marydale community in Thibodaux. They also learned of a gunshot victim in his late 20s who had arrived at a local hospital with an injury to his arm. The victim was treated and released.
Through investigation, detectives learned the male victim was in the passenger seat of an SUV traveling on Ridgefield Road in Thibodaux when the driver stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with Ridgeway Street. At that time, an unknown subject fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle, which resulted in the injury. The driver was not struck.
No arrests have been made at this time.
