Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for stealing several hundred dollars of merchandise from a Mathews department store.
On March 25, 2018, deputies responded to a reported shoplifting incident at the Walmart Supercenter located at 4858 Highway 1 in Mathews. According to employees, the incident had occurred the day prior when a man stole a shopping cart full of items. The man arrived to the parking lot at around 5:45 p.m. and left the business with the several hundred dollars in merchandise over an hour later.
The suspect is described as white male with medium to dark complexion with short hair and a beard. He has tattoos covering both forearms, a small tattoo over his right eye, and a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was driving a white sedan with a sunroof and chrome-colored rims. The vehicle reportedly did not have a license plate displayed.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a third suspect wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery is now in custody. Amber Scott (age 32) of Thibodaux was arrested on Friday, March 30. Cody Dantin (age 30) of Thibodaux and Preston Law (age 36) of Gray were previously arrested on March 21, 2018.
During the early morning hours of March 8, 2018, a man had reportedly driven himself to the hospital after receiving injuries during a robbery. An investigation revealed that, for a few days prior, the man had been exchanging messages with Amber Scott who invited him over that night. When he arrived, Cody Dantin was there holding a rifle, and another man wearing a mask was holding an aluminum baseball bat. The masked man, later identified as Preston Law, began striking the victim with the bat as Dantin pointed the firearm at him. Dantin and Law allegedly stole the victim’s cell phone, shoes, and wallet containing cash, and they made statements indicative of a desire to kill the victim. The victim was able to escape the residence to his vehicle to get assistance.
As the investigation progressed, detectives obtained warrants for Dantin and Scott for Attempted First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. They also later identified Law as the third suspect. Deputies found Dantin hiding under his residence on March 21, 2018, and he was taken into custody. Detectives also made contact with Law that same day, and he was also arrested. Both remain in jail.
Then, on Friday morning, March 30, Scott was taken into custody by authorites in St. Charles Parish. She was booked into the St. Charles Parish Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on Friday, and she remains there awaiting transfer to Lafourche Parish. Her bond is to be set at over $4 million.
Sheriff Craig Webre announced the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct a seat belt checkpoint in Lafourche Parish during the daytime hours of Thursday, April 5. During this checkpoint, deputies will be checking motorists for seat belt and safety seat violations, as well as for proper inspection tags and other potential violations. At around 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23, deputies responded to a robbery at the Dollar General store at 2041 St. Mary Street in Thibodaux. Deputies learned a man, later identified as Glen Barnes, told the cashier at the register that he had a gun, and he demanded cash. He then took the cash, as well as a box of diapers, and fled the scene in a white car headed toward Assumption Parish. The total amount of cash and merchandise reportedly stolen was less than $600.
Deputies sent out a description of the suspect and his vehicle to law enforcement agencies in the area. Within minutes, deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office took Barnes into custody following a pursuit which ended when Barnes crashed into the police jury complex at LA 1 and Franklin Street. According to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon, Barnes was arrested and charged with Aggravated Flight form an Officer, Felony Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and three counts of Resisting an Officer. Additionally, Barnes faces several traffic violations from Louisiana State Police in reference to the crash. Barnes is currently being held on those charges in the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He is additionally being held for Lafourche Parish for the charge of First Degree Robbery. His bond on the robbery charge will be set at $30,000.

Trenton Parrick (age 33) is charged with felony theft, as well as DWI and other violations . His passenger, an unidentified male, is still being sought.
At 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, deputies responded to a theft in Thibodaux. Deputies learned subjects in a red truck had stolen tractor parts and other items from property located on Abby Road. The total value of the items stolen was later determined to be over $2,000.
While in route, deputies learned of a two-vehicle crash on Coulon Plantation Road in Thibodaux in which one of the vehicles was the suspects’ truck. Deputies learned both the driver and passenger fled the scene of the crash on foot. After obtaining descriptions of the subjects from witnesses, deputies located and apprehended one of the subjects, identified as Trenton Parrick, who was identified as the driver of the truck.
Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C arrived on scene to investigate the crash. Parrick was found to have an expired driver’s license, an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, and no license plate. Troopers also conducted an investigation into possible impairment, and Parrick’s blood was drawn due to suspected alcohol and drug use. The results of the blood test are pending.
Parrick was initially transported to the hospital for an examination due to the crash. Following his release from the hospital, Parrick was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. He was charged with Felony Theft, DWI (1st Offense), Hit and Run Driving, improper passing, expired inspection sticker, no license plate, and an expired driver’s license. He was additionally booked on an outstanding warrant for Contempt of Court. His bond is set at $78,400.

At around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to an incident on Myrtle Drive in Bayou Blue. Upon arrival, deputies learned Bonvillain had arrived earlier that day threatening a woman over a matter of $40. Bonvillain ran toward the residence, and the woman locked herself inside along with a second female friend. Bonvillain kicked in the door and entered the residence, and he then began swinging a metal broomstick he had found on the property. As he swung the broomstick, he struck the woman on the hand. He then left the residence. Deputies located Bonvillain on Lacroix Drive, and he was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Home Invasion. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center, and his bond is set at $50,000.

On February 26, 2018, deputies responded to a report of a stolen boat and trailer at Tiffony’s Bait & Seafood in Golden Meadow. The items were stolen sometime overnight between Sunday, February 25, and Monday, February 26. Upon reviewing surveillance cameras in the area, deputies found the suspect to be a white male subject with short hair and glasses driving what appears to be an older model, light-colored Ford pickup truck.
The boat is a custom-made camouflage boat, and the trailer is described as having two poles mounted on the back with mounted lights. There were also several hand-made minnow cages inside the boat.

Then after 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, LPSO deputies and officers with the Thibodaux Police Department began a pursuit with Dantin who was driving a truck on St. Charles Street in Thibodaux. Dantin continued southbound onto LA Highway 1, and units from Louisiana Probation and Parole and Louisiana State Police arrived to assist. Dantin later turned onto St. Charles Bypass Road in Thibodaux and abandoned the truck in the 700 block, continuing on foot. Law enforcement officers searched the area for several hours but were unable to locate him. Then, on Wednesday morning, deputies learned Dantin was back at his residence. He was found hiding under the residence and taken into custody without further incident. Dantin was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked on the aforementioned warrants for Attempted First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. His bond is set at $4.5 million. Investigators say he is facing additional charges, including charges related to the pursuit.
As the investigation into the initial incident continued, detectives identified the third suspect as Preston Law. Investigators made contact with Law on Wednesday, March 21, and he was also taken into custody. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. His bond is set at $150,000.
The third suspect, Amber Scott, is still at large, and the bond on her warrants is also set at over $4 million. Scott’s previous charges include various drug charges, theft, and obstruction of justice. Law has no prior criminal history in Lafourche Parish.

Two fishermen made the discovery and notified the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21. Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol deputies and detectives responded to the scene and retrieved the remains.
After an initial investigation, detectives were unable to determine the identity of the deceased male. An autopsy will be performed at the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office. Detectives were also unable to determine any obvious or specific cause of death.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a fugitive who was considered armed and dangerous is now in custody. Todd Guidry (age 47) of Chackbay, who had made threats to harm himself and others close to him, was apprehended in Mississippi Wednesday morning.
Guidry was wanted for Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault with Child Endangerment and Violation of Protective Orders in reference to an incident that occurred March 8, 2018, in Choctaw. Investigators learned he left the state immediately following the incident and spent time in Florida and Mississippi. On Wednesday, March 21, he was apprehended by authorities in Harrison County, Mississippi. He is now awaiting transfer to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.
Additional charges are pending. Detectives are currently applying for warrants for additional protective order violations, and Guidry also missed two court dates this month.
